FTX attacker becomes the world's 34th largest ETH "whale"
The attacker on the FTX exchange on the morning of November 12 continued to convert assets from the extracted altcoins to Ethereum (ETH).
According to blockchain data, the attacker on the FTX morning of November 12 has been actively converting assets to Ethereum (ETH) over the past 24 hours. As of last night (November 15), the hacker had accumulated more than 228,000 ETH by swapping altcoins and tokens through the DEX.
The attacker resumed the token swap on Nov. Accordingly, the hacker swapped a total of 34,000 BNB and 3 million BUSD to collect an additional 4,500 ETH. As of the time of writing, the hacker wallet is holding more than 235,000 ETH, worth nearly 290 million USD.
Because of such rapid "collection of ETH", the hacker wallet has become the 34th largest Ethereum address in the world.
It is not clear what the attacker's motive was for FTX, although it is believed to have been identified for using a Kraken account to top up fees.
The FTX representative stated that this was an "unlicensed action" and had taken measures to prevent it, leading to the recovery of about 250 million USD of the total 500-600 million USD that was extracted by hackers.
